Employment Special Interest Group
A local voice for inclusive employment for persons living with dementia
Dementia affects a person's ability to function at their full capacity, but this does not mean they can no longer remain in employment
This Employment Special Interest Group, an independent and voluntary group, seeks to raise awareness and support employment for persons with mild dementia to maintain their independence.
"When a person diagnosed with dementia is asked to stop working, they do not just lose an income. They have lost a big chunk of their identity which they have developed over the years, as well as their daily purpose for life."
"Employment helps people with dementia have purpose in life."
