Striving through Caring – A Phenomenological Study of Flourishing in Dementia Family Caregivers
What is this Study about?
This study aims to explore how cultural and religious factors influence the flourishing of Muslim dementia caregivers in Singapore. Specifically, it seeks to understand how faith, cultural practices, and community support contribute to well-being, resilience, and the ability to thrive amidst the challenges of caregiving. By investigating the unique experiences of Muslim caregivers, we hope to inform culturally relevant interventions and improve the overall support available to this community.
Who Can Apply?
We are inviting participants who meet the following criteria:
- Singaporean
- Practicing Muslim
- Aged between 21 and 79
- Currently caring for a family member with dementia at home
- Have had at least 12 months of caregiving experience
- Have had positive caregiving experiences
- English-speaking
Participation involves a one-time interview lasting about 90 minutes. Interviews will be conducted online via Zoom or in person at a time convenient for you. Please note that there will be no financial compensation for participation.
